Responsibilities: Assistant Chief Luis Alvarez is assigned as the Investigations Bureau Assistant Chief
History: As an Officer, he served in the Operations Bureau (Patrol) in all three Districts, in the Special Investigations Division Street Narcotics Unit (Raiders) and in the Community Support Division and as a Community Policing Officer. As a Sergeant, he returned to the Operations Bureau as a Patrol Supervisor and was also assigned to the Office of Internal Affairs. As a Lieutenant, he was assigned to the Administrative Support Division overseeing the Background Investigations Unit, Training Unit, Alarm Unit and Recruiting. As a Captain, he was assigned to the Special Investigations Division. He was District 3 Commander and the Special Operations Division Commander. Currently, he is assigned as the Assistant Chief of the Investigations Bureau.
